I'm so glad to have found group. It's been an encouraging and motivating journey to watch them grow musically. I hope to get ro see them grow in the future.
Favorite track: Halfway There.
“Halfway There” is both the funkiest and most controversial song we’ve ever made. It is the sixth song on our upcoming album “Made in the Image”, a concept album about identity.
The song is about someone who calls themselves a Christian but is only “halfway there”, meaning they want to both follow Christ while also still choosing a life of sin. This song is not about either one of us currently, although there have definitely been times where we have felt further from God. It’s also not about a Christian who is imperfect (because that’s everyone) or a Christian who is struggling with a particular sin but is repentant. It’s specifically about people who call themselves Christians but don’t want to change their sinful lifestyle or deny themselves to follow Jesus. They have one foot in the world and one foot in Christianity.
We pray that if you are in that camp that you’d fully give your life to Christ. That might mean giving up sins that you’ve clung to for a long time, it might mean making difficult life changes, it might even mean denying things that seem to be a part of your identity. But when you become a Christian, your identity changes. When you give your life fully to God, you will grow in love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. It is most definitely a worthy trade.
lyrics
Nice to meet you, I’m aware
That my religious views are burdens I must bare
Bless in one breath and curse the next
Slow compromise until it seems there’s nothing left
They see what’s on the outside
But on the inside my heart’s stuck between two places
I want to live the right life but the good life
Seems much easier to me
Does anybody even like me?
Or do they find me always boring and judgmental
I think I’m on the right side, but what’s the right side
When they tell me that I’m wrong
Play the game, say every phrase
And I’ll change my mind if they tell it to change
The easy way always fools the safe
Falling away, drifting so unaware
One foot in the world while pretending to care
Tell me all will work out because right now I’m scared
That I’ll wake up one day and realize I was halfway there
To where I told God I’d meet Him when I said the prayer
Sunday morning, I’ll leave inspired
Knowing the next day I’ll go back to my normal life
You see what’s on the inside
But on the outside I make everybody love me
I care about the right things, at least they told me
When I posted yesterday
I’ll just believe it on the inside
While on the outside all is falling straight to pieces
I think I’m on the right side
But what’s even the right side anymore
Oh, falling away, drifting so unaware
One foot in the world while pretending to care
Tell me all will work out because right now I’m scared
That I’ll wake up one day and realize I was halfway
Falling away, drifting so unaware
One foot in the world while pretending to care
Tell me all will work out because right now I’m scared
That I’ll wake up one day and realize I was halfway there
